Events: “Snow Storm in Perugia” About the concert tour of the Belarus-Russian Youth Orchestra to Italy

The article “Snow Storm in Perugia” by Nina Kataeva was published on July 14, 2010 in the newspaper “Soyuznoe Veche” (“United Chamber”, a Newspaper of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia) about the concert tour of the Belarus-Russian Youth Orchestra in Italy .

From 30 June to 7 July 2010 the Belarus-Russian Youth Symphonic Orchestra participated in the XII International Festival of Youth Orchestras in Florence (Italy), one of the biggest European festivals in this field. Live performances of the Orchestra took place in Perugia (July 1, the Church of San Domenico), Montecatini Terme (July 2, Hall Terme Tettuccio), Florence (5 July, the Church of Santo Stefano al Ponte). In addition to the concerts of the Orchestra, the musicians visited  Venice, Pisa, Lucca and Rome with excursion trips.

Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russia and Belarus was organized with support of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the Ministry of Culture of Belarus and Russia. It became possible to create the Orchestra in a result of regularly held Summer School of Excellence in the Central Music School of Moscow P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

The Orchestra is conducted by Honoured Artist of Russia, professor, director of the Central Music School Alexander Yakupov.
