International activity of the Central Music School (College)
of the Moscow P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory

Since the first years of its existence, the Central Music School takes an active part in the international music life: it prepares highly professional musicians, performers, creates the basis for the transfer of a unique pedagogical experience of gifted children, directs outstanding teachers to different educational institutions abroad. The Central Music School students receive vocational training, focused on the combination of classical traditions with new trends in musical pedagogy. Nowadays, there is no any worthwhile music school or music group which does not have the Central Music School graduates supporting and developing the rich traditions of Russian musical culture. “Russia can be proud of its system of professional musical education, which may be recommended to other countries and serve a good example” (from the resolution of the Musical Education International Conference, London, 2005).

Internationalization of education is the characteristic feature of modern life of the international educational community. The development of international activities of the Central Music School is inextricably linked with this process, affecting the scope of Russian professional music education. We strive to maintain such a climate and level of culture within the educational establishment, which promote and encourage international and intercultural understanding.

Due to the wide range of international activity forms of the Central Music School, the interest of foreign cultural, scientific and educational organizations to the School as an educational establishment (a sort of research laboratory) with professional training of gifted children at an early age is constantly increasing. The main goal is, above all, to educate a musician, a high class professional and a fully educated person. Achieving such a significant goal is directly dependent on the level of the Central Music School teachers’ professionalism and their creative potential, ability to preserve and transmit the traditions of Russian performing art, carefully combining them with the national cultural experience of a foreign student.
