Harpsichord “R. von Nagel”

Harpsichord “R. von Nagel” (Paris, 2011)

Concert double keyboard harpsichord from the Paris studio “Reinhard von Nagel” was built in one of Europe’s leading studios on the production of historical harpsichords.

The instrument is designed as a facsimile copy of the 1730 model of the XVIII century great French harpsichord master Nicolas Blanchet specifically for the Central Music School. The harpsichord was settled in the Early Music Hall built for this particular instrument.

Reinhard von Nagel, the head of the studio, made the final adjustment of the harpsichord in accordance with the acoustics of the hall.

The harpsichord has a unique range of over five octaves (from F of counter octave to G of the third octave), which allows to perform all the sonatas of Scarlatti, Soler as well as works of J. S. Bach’s sons on this instrument.
